This is one from the 1970ies, which is the bright representative of the calm essence of the biggest part of songs of that time from the USA. This is a guitar pop by then-teen idol Robert Cabot ‘Bobby’ Sherman, Jr., who is now aged 73 (as of the end of 2016). This fellow did many singles and it looks like no albums. Though his activity is marked as ceased since 1995, there are more collections of his songs are made, and the last one of them was in 2008 (named ‘Just For You’). In addition to singing, the artist was engaged in films, where he mostly was an actor, and sometimes a director. His last directorial job was a non-profit educational film for the US police officers for the internal training. He also was spotted a lot on the TV. As the career of his never sprung to the gorgeous heights, he eventually left singing turning into an emergency medical technician. He is officially a police officer, the Captain, now and the entire life is engaged in medical assistance and training, in the police departments and the police academies. So he may be named more as a humanitarian than the singer, as, in addition to police service, he founded several foundations helping students of the poor underdeveloped countries like Ghana to facilitate themselves in life. Partially he teaches students music. But he is restless and found yet another way to be on TV, not for the sake of glory but for the sake of purely scientific interest – he built a small model of one of Disneylands in his backyard, and that was spotted multiple times by various shows. This great guy was also mentioned in books as his life example should definitely be spotted and followed. He was recalled many-many times in various TV projects and other showbiz works, including The Simpsons, The Nanny, film Dark Shadows, Frank Zappa’s show, and some AMC’s shows. Looks like his fair smile, nice face, and good voice were enough to make the entire generation to love this fellow. There even was a saying in 1960-1970ies, including his name, so it shall definitely mean something about his that time popularity. Or maybe he was simply in the trend?
As for the song itself, we must admit that there is the same easiness in the lines as it is in the look of the fellow singer. He starts this pop picturing some girl that walks barefoot on the ground on the meadow with the daisies, freeing her hair and emanating happiness while the sun shines on her in the morning when she does that promenade. She wakes up the sleepy flowers, he says, and the morning turns brighter than without her involvement. Thus, a singer admires of this girl for a while, and then, after the chorus, says that one day, when she’ll be doing that delightful actions, he will reach her and will even dare to touch her.
