Going in Style album description:Elderly people can be extremely stylish and hilarious. This is a comedy with trailer’s ‘Highway to Hell’ by AC/DC (that is somehow isn’t present in this soundtrack, despite having gorgeous lyrics and style). This is our days’ remake of 1979’s film of the same name with slight differences in plot and many new funny moments. From the trailer, it is obvious that this is a comedy, but it has extremely big basis underneath. It raises one important issue of America’s private pension funds – it all comes to the tie when a big company says it will not make further pension payments. So the three pensioners decide to rob a bank and during their practices, they learn a lot, as if waking up from the anabiosis that they used to have all recent years filled with meeting each other in the park, feeding pigeons, and scaring off the mischievous kids.
What will it be? We are eager to watch a movie with Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine & Alan Arkin – they all three are surprisingly magnificent during their careers (though we regret a little that Sir Michael Caine depicts in the recent years the ordinary elderly people). It is as if about them has been made a song ‘Can I Kick It?’ by A Tribe Called Quest, and the next one, ‘Hard to Handle’ by Otis Redding. The most part of a musical collection represents old & very old singers, as if the main heroes, whose time has passed away years ago. The most part of performers died young (Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Dinah Washington) – they all did fabulous lyrics and music. And the one remained alive is Sonny Rollins.
All you have to know going in the cinema – is to grab a good mood with you & a couple of good beers – and the time will fly by very easily & amusingly. After the film, it is easy to listen to ‘Memories Are Made of This’ by incomparable Dean Martin & the life will seem so great. Reference: Movie profile on IMDb, more info on Wikipedia
