Genghis Khan Lyrics

Genghis Khan Song Lyrics

I know there's no form
And no labels to put on
To this thing we keep
And dip into when we need
And I don't have the right
To ask where you go at night
But the waves hit my head
To think someone's in your bed

I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me

And the lights, they glow
Like I just lost the World War
And the scene slips away
To the evenness I fake
It's a cheat somewhere
'Cause I don't really want you, girl
But you can't be free
'Cause I'm selfish, I'm obscene

I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me

I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself

I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me

Swedish-American indie pop rock band named Miike Snow could seem at first as the singer named Mike Snow. But this is untrue. You only have to watch their several videos to understand that there are different people participating in different clips.
In it, as many watchers notice, the theme of homosexuality is exploited heavily – there is a villain, who seems like wanting to kill the protagonist of the clip, in the James Bond – similar manner. The manner is held in every single thing of the clip – the surrounding room, machinery, tied hero to a table laying under some dreadful killing machine. While conceiving his plan, the villain experiences arousing doubts in the rightfulness of his decision. Eventually, on the day 2 in the clip, it leads to releasing of a hero, who, too, experiences a short pause full of hesitations and comes back to his ex captive-host to join him in the terrifically arranged mutual dance. After that, a viewer sees, as they become a gay couple raising the two kids from the previous villain’s marriage. In the finale, the ex-wife looks at them both, as if watching after, conceiving some frightful plan of revenge and a viewer only has to guess what is on her mind.
Genghis Khan was given with its own video in the anticipation of the upcoming tour that the band Miike Snow has decided to provide before the release of their album named ‘iii’, the part of which this song is. The tour’s lasting was March-July 2016. The tour was in places of major music festivals, so the most part of the organizational costs wasn’t spent by the band – they were simple participants.
This was not a rock song, as you can hear yourself, but it was still included in the Billboards’ rock lists, reaching 12th number, and 7th – in the list of alternatives, by the same Billboard (in the US). In Australia, it reached disgracing 44th position.
The gold certification in Canada allowed this piece to be considered successful (eventually, after all, 40 000 copies were sold).
The album (which is spelled as Miiike Snᴉᴉᴉw in the original name of the cover) has this song, but it isn’t the headliner (‘Heart Is Full’ is the one).
The perception of the album with this song was not so unambiguous as the band would want. First of all, no one praised the essence of their lyrics, naming it not important. Thus, ‘Entertainment Weekly’ said that the style in the album comes over the essence. And the Boston Globe even told that a few ‘irresistible moments’ evaporate in a short time, leaving no strong aftertaste.
The Genghis Khan in the matter of this song meant very gay thing: a performer want to conquer his partner in this very way, not really understanding where and why would he has to go in the night if he has him here in from of him. So he wants to tie him up and to win him, he wants his partner belonged to him solely. Basically, this model is underlined in the clip. Further, he says he’s been faking the evenness (the straight orientation of him) and feels now it was all the big mistake, as he must be opened to himself. If not, the entire feeling will slip away very soon.
Next, he says he really doesn’t want a girl. He wants to make everything going smooth, but he feels like he doesn’t know himself.
