Anderson .Paak is the professional name of Brandon Paak Anderson, born in 1986, who has released a couple of albums since 2010 – the beginning of his professional career. There is not much said about the song itself on the web. All we know is that it is a fresh thing by the performer, which was collaboratively recorded with ScHoolboy Q – another singer-beginner. Dr. Dre was a patron of Anderson .Paak for some time and ‘blessed,’ whatever that would mean, several singles on the release.
The singer works mostly in R&B, soul, and funk. He is a little bit rapper, musician, and a songwriter, in addition to producing own songs. Korean-African American origin helps him a little in the defining oneself not only as a performer of many genres.
In the lyrics of this piece, he tells of at least two things – the music and intimate proximity to his girl. He mixes these two notions, as, according to him, there is no music without passion. So he teaches a girl to dance and swirl under the music, they’ve opened a bottle of wine and half-finished it. He tells her she shouldn’t refrain from trying various kinds of love – rocking the love boat, get hi and get low, be steady and move, rest and encore, do the gorgeous That in this Friday, live in this party, not wasting anyone’s time and life and be sincere before God.
Basically, we can see in the lines the evolution of all the stages of relations – starting with flirting, aggravating it, touching and caressing, ending with mutual intimate enjoyment. There is nothing so special in this R&B, just yet another song.
In one of the previous soundtracks, Bleed for This, we’ve been telling you about a new voice of the streets, Willis Earl Beal, who is now an uprising star. The reason why we mention him now, during the observation of this song, is because he had a very hard fate, which allowed him to start a creative path and to write many of his songs, being a bum. He did not get drunk and was not killed in some street gateway for a couple of bucks by another homeless person. No, he grabbed himself in hands and started to walk towards his dream – singing. He is very similar in some points to the singer of this song, Anderson .Paak, who also became homeless, having a wife and a kid, when the employer suddenly, without prior notice, fired him from the unsteady job, which, at least, gave them money for rent and food. For Mr. Anderson, we presume, it was even harder to fight the circumstances, as he had a child, who had to eat several times a day and to whom it was impossible to explain why the daddy can’t provide her with shelter and hot food. Do you imagine yourself how many tears were in the eyes of this kid’s parents, who faced such a situation? We have to admire people like Anderson .Paak, who managed to sustain the hardships and now he has several albums, which allow him to rise to the glory and money.
