Somehow the first couplet of this song reminds us children's counting – ‘1…2…3…4…5…, here I go to find you now’ and so on. Of course, it is only our personal perception of the tempo of the song and has nothing to do with the evolvement line. What is actually happening in the unhappy guy is very frustrating because he obviously was abandoned by the girl and he hesitates if to call her or not.
After the narration of the clip evolves in the way that he allegedly wins 1 million dollars from somewhere just like that and he imagines himself how his ex-girl would feel like after she knows this news. The guy is magically surrounded by the pouring out champagne girls in the swimming dresses only.
After that, he is transferred on the street, where he passes the grandma across the street and when he was managed to fulfill that before the green light faded away, he felt himself the same winner with the same swimsuit-dressed girls and pouring champagne.
The next, a guy goes to the next scene when he is against five big dudes with the sports balls, who all hit him with those but he instead cannot even throw the ball far enough to hit any of them. He falls down and he thinks how great it would be if he would be strong and could hit back. He goes away from them with a lovely girl, and they all envy him.
This dream ends in the kissing with the gorgeous girl that he met in the bar, and while he's going towards her, people congratulate him and wish him well with the same champagne-girls and big bosses with the keys from whatever. It all ends with their kiss. And we left regretting that there wasn't a continuation.
It's basically a clip about the fantasies of a guy, of just a regular guy, who isn't remarkable in any way. We all do that sometimes. Some of us do it every day, totally replacing the real one, existing world with that imagined one. Although we do it in various ways – someone dreams, someone uses drugs, someone plays in the online or computer games, and someone simply fantasizes about it in his or her head.
We all want to be victorious; we all want to be cherished, loved, cared, and admired.
Basically, that's what a guy is singing in the lyrics. He wants to be a Steve McQueen, a celebrity, a lazy guy with lots of beautiful girls around, a person whom everybody cares of, without understanding that it is not that in the real life. But who needs a real life if your fantasy is that bright enough and in which you can be whoever you want? Definitely, 'Panic! At The Disco' is an outstanding band, which makes many clips memorable and vivid.
This song was mainly distributed in the US and it has the best position at #7 in the ‘Hot Rock Songs’ of the Billboard. As for the certification, it is gold with 500,000 sell-outs. It can be named brand new as it was released in February 2016. It is included in their album named 'Death Of A Bachelor'. You may see lots of clips from there on YouTube already.
