Scarlett Johansson is definitely not a singer. From the first seconds of this rock, it is strongly felt like it is a garage rock done by some beginning girl, not a professional participant of show business. She tries to scream it loud but it only feels like it is a pain in your ears. No wonder that the album that she released in 2008 didn't receive much support from the professionals. Despite so bad performance that she has in every single song, Scarlett Johansson has managed to release already two studio albums and five separate singles. In the soundtrack to the film 'Sing', she has two songs, and both of them are extremely weak. The first one is weak because of her weak voice she has naturally – it is very muffled, indistinct, and not even close possess those professional parameters that are required for a good singer. This one, we have already stopped listening to on 15th second, as it is simply plundering of our ears.
This song was specially released to be included in the album of this film. And despite the presence of this song on Amazon available for purchase for $1.29, we would definitely not waste our money on that piece.
Since November 28th, which is the release date, no one on Amazon bought it or left a feedback concerning the song; maybe just in the simple desire not to offend the author of this loud thing. Unfortunately, it is only loud in the voice, not in the professionalism.
So maybe the lyrics of this song are something magnificent? Turns out it is absolutely not – it is just a bunch of desires of a small little girl that doesn't want to grow up. Yes, it is about some heart feelings, about the experience that she received through the life, but it's just at the level of primitive instincts like got burnt, got broken, blind, got grounded, got stuck into the plan, got pain and so on. There are also the same primitive consequences that the performer of the song takes from these life lessons – she became wiser. Not really fascinating, isn't it?
As for the rhyming, it is also not very sophisticated – fly, a kiss goodbye, letting go… In the most cases, it doesn't even rhyme, if to read the written text without preliminary listening to the song, for example, 'sun' and 'so far', 'target' and 'time' etcetera.
Whether sound producers were right when they hired Scarlett Johansson to sing a song for that movie? We are not sure. Whether they were right to allow her voice a character? Yes, maybe this was a much better idea.
Don't misunderstand us – we admire Mrs. Johansson as an actress and as a beautiful woman, but we absolutely not sure that she's a good singer. And she constantly prove us right in that because it is totally impossible to listen to that song, it is not even a garage rock level, it is a level of a starting starter without a hint on professionalism.
