I'm Still Standing Lyrics

I'm Still Standing Song Lyrics

You could never know what it's like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you
You'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use

And did you think this fool could never win
Well look at me, i'm coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while i'm still standing you just fade away

Don't you know i'm still standing better than i ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah

Once i never could hope to win
You starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now

And don't you know i'm still standing better than i ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah

And don't you know i'm still standing better than i ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah

Very fast-paced song by Taron Egerton this time (as a cover), as long as 3 and seven seconds in this version. Taron is the voice actor for the one of the main characters, the ape with a British accent who didn't want to be a robber but wanted to become a singer. Looking at the picture of these two standing in one scene, you realize how similar they are. Maybe Mr. Egerton purposefully dressed like his voice character. Nevertheless, he doesn't fade away into the background of his hero.
The original performance of this song was made by Elton John in 1983. Despite the fact that Mr. John works primarily in the pop genre, a song's genre was rock. Actually, you can listen to the original piece following this link on YouTube.
Yes, it is not a completely traditional rock; it has the admixture of pop in the style of Mr. John.
Maybe it's just a matter of our perception of the song but somehow we think that it, in general, exploits the same idea as ‘We Are The Champions’ by Queen band. Because in the lyrics, Mr. Elton John sings that he is still standing better than he ever did. What is it if it's not the song of a conqueror? If you perform absolutely best in your business and in your life, then you should definitely be named the conqueror. A winner. A person who overcame the obstacles and has everything normal and even gorgeous in the moment. And then your soul sings like this.
But in addition to the position of a winner, Mr. John also realizes that there is a lot of toughness in this world and you sometimes can feel yourself like an abandoned person trying to hide from the entire world and never even suppose that you can win. But the thing is that once you believe in yourself, you become the guy of whom Mr. John and Mr. Freddie Mercury in his 'We Are The Champions' sing.
The reason why this song is suitable for talking ape in the animated movie is that he experiences largely similar to what Elton John shows in the clip, if to through aside all the painted bodies of the dancers of the both genders. We see a person who doesn't want to be the one that society tells him to be. He is bright enough. He is different enough and he wants to succeed in his own chosen path.
The original song by Mr. Elton has the invigorating clip and it managed to reach the top position in the weekly charts only in Switzerland and Canada. All the countries and the territories that embraced it in own charts are Australia, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, and the US.
Despite the personal energy of Mr. Elton, the song has received only silver certification. It means that 250.000 copies were sold in the country of origin, namely, United Kingdom. Is it a loss? No way.
