Jay's Rap Song Lyrics

f**k. f**k. f**k.
Mother mother f**k. Mother mother f**k f**k. Mother f**k mother f**k.
Noise noise noise.
1 2 1 2 3 4
Noise noise noise.
Smokin weed, smokin weed.
Doin' coke, drinkin beers.
Drinkin beers, beers beers.
Rollin' fatties, smokin blunts.
Who smokes the blunts? We smoke the blunts.
Rollin' blunts and smokin um'

15 bucks, little man, put that sh*t in my hand.
If that money doesn't show then you owe me owe me owe.
My jungle love.
Oh e oh e oh.
I think I wanna know ya know ya ... yeah, what.

"Jay's Rap" is one of those cuts that is made to be on a "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" soundtrack, itself scandalous and funny in the way only the two eponymous characters are. This track is quite typically big, boorish Jay: something about it being raw, mad, funny braggadocio, yet strewn with random thoughts, much in the manner of the tone of comedy in the film.

In fact, the repetition of explicit language in the song helps create a humor that is not only the source of the song itself but also a reflection of Jay's stance on rebellion and freedom from regulation. In fact, the song starts with a blitzkrieg of expletives, thereby setting a tone that is both shocking and humorous, much like the film's proclivity for pushing the envelope and testing the waters of political correctness.

As the rap progresses, the themes lean more towards hedonism and non-conformity, with subtle references underneath of drug use, drinking, and a general giving over to vices. Not to be construed as advocating for these behaviors, the lyrics are not unsuitably displayed but creations of the characters in an overdone form for the purpose of amusement and to clarify them within the film and the story that it is telling.

The line "15 bucks, little man, put that sh*t in my hand" is just kinda memorably unusual, crystallizing Jay's transactional worldview, streetwise up to the brim. This line, due to humor or the interpolation of "My jungle love," is another way in which pop culture reference and humor run such that it makes the song even more comical in the way that it is delivered within the film. In the end, "Jay's Rap" epitomizes the countercultural essence of Jay and Silent Bob—raw, no-holds-barred assertion of the self in consonance with themes of friendship, loyalty, and a pursuit of freedom against the dictates of society. The song, like the characters, is never serious. It is just a comic piece that works for the entire enchantment of the movie, full of jest and surprise to grasp and take the audience with it.
