Mandy Lyrics

Mandy Song Lyrics

I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
A shadow of a man
A face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into
Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
And you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
I'm standing on the edge of time
Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing
The tears are in my eyes
And nothing is rhyming, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
And you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
Yesterday's a dream
I face the morning
Crying on a breeze
The pain is calling, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
You kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you

Yet another star made by Clive Davis is Barry Manilow. Now he is 74 but his voice has only slightly changed through years. This pop song is an ode to some Mandy, a person who made Barry the one who he is now. She believed in him and was unshaken when raising him on his feet; she gave a sense of wholeness to him, giving kisses taking nothing back from him. He needed her but then he sent her away for some reason, not allowing her to stay with him. Maybe she was a call-girl? Whatever it is, he tells he needs her again now, in this morning, and he cries in the wind recalling her softness and kisses.
