David Bowie has recently become famous – after his death. And this glam pop song is one of his best in-line to Bowie’s mind. His ugly voice tells a little story of his feelings right now: there are eyes of green (in the next refrains – blue, red) color in which he could have looked endlessly, for thousand years, and then he says he had been driven crazy from these peering look. He’s been trying to tame out the burning fire with gasoline – and he didn’t succeed (of course). I’ve been putting out the fire, he says (with gasoline) – and he wonders what has happened if he hasn’t done anything well out of it.
