New York, New York Lyrics

New York, New York Song Lyrics

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And make a brand new start of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York.

I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York

Probably there is not a single person among the inhabitants of the both Americas, who wouldn’t know this composition. Among the world's population, at least 1/10 part definitely heard it at least once. Now we listen one of the covers at its execution that turns out to be the genre of pop. In the end, it again becomes musical. The song is about favorable city, so big and so different. A song about the megalopolis, which always surprises and can be both good and fatally terrible. Originally sung by Liza Minnelli in 1977.
