Really high-quality humor with subtle overtones is a real rarity, but Veep gives us the opportunity to enjoy it fully img 0

Hip-hip hooray, Julia!

Maybe we even wanted to stop a series of news about TV shows, but over and over again, every day we see new announcements of a series of beautiful examples and just cannot help to share it. In the case of today's object of attention, it would be practically illegal! This show is a bit like Black Book , though perhaps it is only for the general level of witty jokes. Meet the Veep, which is on the way to the fifth landing! The story about a female vice-president, which is only by the will of fate, was literally randomly assigned to the role of almost the first person in the vast country.

Differences of perception

British satirist Armando Iannucci believes in the modern viewer, and therefore believes that comedy not only can, but must be smart and not look like an endless parade of spineless and stupid jokes. Also it is interesting to show how the policy works on an example of not only much global events, but rather in terms of a daily routine, so that the viewer felt "some sympathy or understanding" to them. These two elements formed a project that earned it worldwide fame, tartly telling about the methods of work of the British government. A few years later, after one unsuccessful attempt to adapt the show for the American audience, Iannucci nevertheless accepted the offer of TV channel HBO (the most well-famed TV series channel, who runs practically all modern shows) to work on a new TV series of the same style, which was the starting point for creating Veep.

The essence of humor

Now the central image becomes a female and in this case, the author could have had a great temptation, and for the audience it could be the same size fear that this character is another parody of real-life one. But here Iannucci went his own way, with the help of Julia Louis-Dreyfus creating an authentic character, not exploiting any of the well-known American woman specifically that only has strengthened as the character and the show. In addition, the author still does not take up for too much twisted intrigue, relying on everyday situations. It turns out at the headquarters of the Vice-President is not quite simple, and knocks the spectator down with elaborate curses that even with the use of word elements of the elementary humor anyway are intelligent and particularly interesting to look at the atmosphere of formality of the show.
