The Hanging Tree by James Newton Howard. This composer does not create bad songs a-priori. The song develops over the entire length, to pour out bright culmination at an end. We want to note the absolute splendor of sound, and the words that are not sung but spoken, as if the hero is tired and sings a sort of funeral song out of the last powers, in the world, surrounded by zombies – it all adds a lot of charm to the final product. Excellent composition, where the voice is gradually filled and recedes into the background, to provide a phenomenal ending. The Hanging Tree Song Lyrics

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man
They say murdered three.
Strange things have happened here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out
For his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run,
So we'd both be free.
Strange things have happened here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of hope,
Side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
