"Chasin' You" is a beautiful, slow-tempo set by Morgan Wallen that embodies the feeling of unsettled emotions after a break-up, where a person feels incomplete or lost without their significant other. Confronted with their former love interest at the exact moment they have tried to move on, Wallen sat down with Jamie Moore and Craig Wiseman to describe ideas of youthful adventures and the feelings hanging on from a love long gone. The story begins with the melancholic effort of chasing a former lover, symbolized with images like "chasing you like a shot of whiskey" or "chasing you like them goodbye taillights". Wallen seemingly reminisces on shared past experiences when he went after her with his heart but is left unsuccessful at this as he knows so much has happened that he knows has placed so much space between the two. With new relationships, the song's protagonist can't shake off the haunting memories of what once was, as seen in the verse "Yeah I'm laying here tonight holding someone new / Still chasing you, still chasing you," a concept that the least lovable person in the world can relate to: holding on to the past and being unable to let go of the deeply rooted feelings. So this song has really struck a chord with so many, somehow tugging on the heartstrings of those who have indeed had to sadly let go of past loves and found a way to keep going but not to let the past go. Commercially, the song performed great and now "Chasin' You" has reached not only the summit of Canada and US Country charts but also is certified 5× Platinum in the United States.
