Don't Wanna Know Lyrics

Artist: Maroon 5

You know, Maroon 5 is already highly popular rock-pop band. They step in the pace of time and with this song, they have even enhanced their popularity. They made a clip about chasing Pokemons (following the highly successful ‘Pokemon Go’ game requiring the Internet). To add even more excitement, the singers and many other main characters in the clip are dressed like these made-up creatures. But that’s not even all – they have invited the stars of the movie business and the stand-up comedians to make cameos! Their list includes Sarah Silverman, Ed Helms, and Vince Vaughn. The last dude even has the extensive lines, where he says that he has been so tired of running from the hordes of kids hunting them down. And they, along with the front man of Maroon 5 decide to stop running right now. But in several seconds they hear as the roaring crowd is approaching and decide to save their lives by going away from some bar they are sitting in. Kendrick Lamar is also present as a star, not in the video, but in a song, where he is active in the verses. The essences of the clip are several. Firstly, the viewer understands the singer and the leader of the band is a heartbroken fellow. He starts a day from drinking some green cocktail that is supposed to bring the relaxation and soothing after heavily drinking on yesterday. Next, the viewer sees as he is not simply weird-dressed dude, but a Pokemon, as there are many like him, spawn in the places where ordinarily people catch them – on the beaches, in the gyms, and there are starting to run too. Our Pokemon is in love with a Poke-girl, pink fluffy birdie, who flied away from being caught, leaving him stunned and in love with her. Since then, he was trying to find her everywhere, but failed and that was the reason he started drinking the spirits. Some fanpics call this a real hunting at Pokemons in life, only from the point of view of Pokes, not the people-hunters. In the clip, there is even an issue of trespassing and the main hero kills such a trespasser with his blue beam coming out from the paw. Whilst the lyrics of the song aren’t so vivid as the clip. Their essence is: there is a heart-broken fellow, who suffers because his girl left him. He doesn’t wanna know who is driving her home. In some essence, this song is the antagonist in the sounding (rock pop vs. pop ballad) and tempo (fast vs. slow) of another song – ‘Who's Gonna Drive You Home Tonight?’ by The Cars, performed long years ago, back in 1984. The main contra to that song is that in here, he doesn’t want to know, who is going to drive her home, but in the song of 1984, he actually is interested in this question, as he worries about his girlfriend’s safety, who seemingly broke up with him, leaving him the same heartbroken fellow as the singer is in this piece. In the lyrics further, the singer wonders if his ex thinking of him, doing what she is doing now. He is so in love that he sees this girl wherever he goes and whatever he does. He tries to find oblivion in the partying, screwing other girls (who somehow are not Pokemons, as he is) but as fast as he stops the fun, the memories are crawling back. His friends started to act themselves strange after they broke up with the girl – they are compassionate and don’t even mention her name in front of him not to hurt him farther. But he does speak to other people and they tell him his ex is dating someone, which he denies and don’t want to percept. After all, he encounters one of the possible consequences of reflections – maybe he is just a fool? After this stage passes, he realizes the eventual inevitable end of the suffering. Thus, he doesn’t want to hear anything about her anymore – no more hashtags in the social networks, no more attempts to make her jealous or being jealousified, if there is such a word (be the subject of jealousy by her). Okay, eventually he gets angry, which is characterized by using the word poona towards her intimate children-birth organ (‘Do he lay it down for you, touch your poona like this?’). This must be named the pre-last stage of every relationship. After this, it always goes only one last stage – silent regret towards what he felt to this girl, with no feelings attached anymore. You simply recall any of your ended relations and try to pass all the stages to understand the truthfulness of what we think about this pop rock song. Some sources like this one, call this video a hilarious parody on the society’s obsession by the social media in the recent years, where there is so much content is generated by the people which highly exceeds the total quantity of official media data. Think of good old 1980ies, where the entire information you received to your head, was coming from TV, big screens, theaters, and books. Yes, you have had chats with your friends, but these were live chats in the real life – you were all sitting in some café eating croissants drinking coffee and chatting. No one sat there with the phone. They did not exist then. The worst case it could be is sitting with some exciting fantasy or fictional book, where you tried to finish the chapter, not typing ‘LOL,’ ‘asl,’ or ‘;)’ all the time watching through the news line of your friends, who was sitting stuck in the chats in their phones, too. Yes, this video can be and should be viral. But it doesn’t cause you to change your nasty phone habits, unfortunately, instead only aggravates them as now you will try to download the Pokemon Go to try it. Don't Wanna Know Lyrics

Don't Wanna Know by Maroon 5

[Intro]
Oh hey
Oh, oh hey
Oh, oh, oh hey
Uh oh, uh oh

[Chorus: Adam Levine]
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who‘s taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
[Verse 1: Adam Levine]
Wasted (wasted)
And the more I drink the more I think about you
Oh no, no, I can't take it
Baby every place I go reminds me of you

[Pre-Chorus: Adam Levine]
Do you think of me? Of what we used to be?
Is it better now that I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange, they don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?

[Chorus: Adam Levine]
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

[Verse 2: Adam Levine]
And every time I go out, yeah
I hear it from this one, I hear it from that one
That you got someone new
Yeah, I see but don't believe it
Even in my head you're still in my bed
Maybe I'm just a fool

[Pre-Chorus: Adam Levine]
Do you think of me? Of what we used to be?
Is it better now that I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange, they don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?

[Chorus: Adam Levine]
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

[Verse 3: Kendrick Lamar]
(Oh hey)
No more “please stop”
No more hashtag boo'd up screenshots
No more tryin' make me jealous on your birthday
You know just how I made you better on your birthday, oh
Do he do you like this, do he woo you like this?
Do he lay it down for you, touch your poona like this?
Matter fact, never mind, we'll let the past be
May be his right now, but your body's still me, woah

[Chorus: Adam Levine]
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know

[Outro]
Oh hey
Oh, oh hey
Oh, oh, oh hey
Uh oh, uh oh
