Wet Dream Song Lyrics
[Verse]
Beam me up (Beam me up)
Count me in (Count me in)
Three, two, one (Three, two, one)
Let's begin
Here we go (Here we go)
Here we go (Here we go)
Here we go, here we go, here we go
I was in your wet dream
Driving in my car
Saw you at the side of the road
There's no one else around
You're touching yourself
Touching yourself
Touching your
Touching yourself
Touching yourself
You said
"Baby, do you want to come home with me?
I've got Buffalo '66 on DVD"
You said
"Baby, do you want to come home with me?
I've got Buffalo '66 on DVD"
Beam me up (Beam me up)
Count me in (Count me in)
Three, two, one (Three, two, one)
Let's begin
Here we go (Here we go)
Here we go (Here we go)
Here we go, here we go, here we go
I was in your wet dream
Driving in my car
What makes you think you're good enough
To think about me when you're touching yourself?
Touching yourself
Touching your
Touching yourself
Touching yourself
You climb onto the bonnet
And you're licking the windscreen
I've never seen anything so obscene
It's enough to make a girl blush
It's enough, it's enough to make a girl blush
It's enough, it's enough, it's enough, it's enough
It's enough, it's enough, it's enough, it's enough (To make a girl blush)
It's enough, it's enough, it's enough, it's enough
It's enough, it's enough, it's enough, it's enough (To make a girl blush)
Beam me up (Beam me up)
Count me in (Count me in)
Three, two, one (Three, two, one)
Let's begin
Here we go (Here we go)
Here we go (Here we go)
Here we go, here we go, here we go
Beam me up (Beam me up)
Count me in (Count me in)
Three, two, one (Three, two, one)
Let's begin

Artist Info:
Wet Leg is a British indie rock band from the UK. The duo consists of Rhian Tejsondale and Hester Chambers. Natives of the Island of Wight, Wet Leg emerged from nowhere to catch the eyes of the independent music press with a very poised, fully formed concoction of post-punk and indie pop. Their music usually contains sharp guitar riffs and humanly felt lyrics, all delivered with so much humor and a laid-back style that can easily mislead you from the often incisive observation about personal relationships and societal expectations. Wet Leg has been praised for his or her new example of indie rock and the duo's penchant to write songs as sharp while they are irreverent, above the ordinary while actually still grounded in real life.
Annotations and Meaning:
"Wet Dream" by Wet Leg is a jumpy, winking look at the realms of fantasy and desire with a playful edge. The song opens with a series of commands ("Beam me up, Count me in, Three, two, one, Let's begin") that set an active and inviting tone, "insinuating a sense of journey or adventure about to be embarked upon." The repetition of these lines throughout the track works as a rhythmic anchor, giving the chant-like quality and able to increase the catchiness.
The lyrics take on a nearly dreamy kind of situation wherein the singer runs into someone dreaming about her ("I was in your wet dream, Driving in my car"). This is the kind of imagery that is both startling and whimsical—meant to be a picture of a surreal and slightly ridiculous encounter. References to the movie "Buffalo '66" and unusual actions like "licking the windscreen" infuse the song with a quirky, cinematic quality that aligns with the band's flair for blending the mundane with the bizarre.
The chorus then questions the appropriateness of the fantasizer's thoughts: "What makes you think you're good enough / To think about me when you're touching yourself?," hence introducing a theme of empowerment and assertion. It really challenges the listener's expectation and inverts the traditional storyline of objectification, thereby offering the protagonist a round of power and control.
